I am a baffled observer of the world around us, from Texas, of course. I am an author, editor and researcher; an ambitious but average drummer with a penchant for tabloid headlines. Life-long dream: swim with the sharks.
These are my collected ramblings; an online compendium of utter nonsense, comprising art, culture, poetry, photography, technology and the newsworthy, arcane and inane.
As the tagline suggests, one of the primary purposes of 'get @baffled' is to act as an “Online Compendium of Utter Nonsense”. The human condition is a never-ending parade of the fantastical, the endearing and the appalling (sometimes all in one go). There is so much going on all the time that it can be difficult to put your finger on the best bits. I dip my hands into the interweb pool and pull out some possibly interesting, possibly humorous and hopefully thought-provoking stuff for your consideration.
I like to think of 'get @baffled' as a “cabinet of curiosities”. There is original work here as well, both words and images. You will know it when you see it (because there will be a bloody great note attached giving me credit).

I am particularly fond of haiku, and one of the projects I manage is the #haikuchallenge project on Twitter. The challenge is deceptively simple: every day (weather permitting) I heave my copy of the OED off the shelf and select a word. I tweet that word with the following instructions: “today’s Haiku Challenge: any haiku you like, as long as it has the word ‘<insert>’ in it… #haikuchallenge.” Participants are then required to craft a haiku using that day’s word and to tweet it using the Twitter hashtag “#haikuchallenge”. The results are always interesting.
